Essence LeGuion – Product Liability & Safety Disclaimer

By purchasing products from Essence LeGuion, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding the safe use of our handmade plaster fragrance stones.

⚠️ General Disclaimer

Essence LeGuion is not liable for any interior vehicular or property damage resulting from improper hanging, oil spillage, leakage, or product misuse. Purchasing this item constitutes agreement to these safety terms.

1. Product Use & Care Instructions

To ensure safe and effective use:

  1. Apply 2–3 drops of fragrance oil onto the back of the plaster stone only
  2. Crucial: Allow oil to absorb 100% completely and fully dry before hanging
  3. Hang the stone freely using the attached ribbon
  4. Ensure the stone remains fully suspended at all times
  5. Remove the stone from the vehicle before reapplying fragrance oil

2. Surface Warning & Damage Risk

⚗️ Solvent Warning

Fragrance oils and essential oils are highly concentrated chemical solvents.

Direct contact with oil or a saturated plaster stone may permanently:

  • Melt
  • Dissolve
  • Crack or peel
  • Stain or discolour

⚠️ At-Risk Surfaces Include:

  • Plastic (dashboards, trims, consoles)
  • Rear-view mirror housing
  • Glass surfaces
  • Leather and vinyl
  • Painted, varnished, or polished surfaces
  • Timber and synthetic materials

🚫 Strict Handling Requirements

  • ALWAYS ensure the stone hangs freely
  • The stone must NOT touch any surface, including:
    • Dashboard
    • Mirror stem or casing
    • Interior panels
  • DO NOT place the stone on:
    • Dashboards
    • Consoles
    • Furniture
  • DO NOT leave a loose stone sitting on any surface
  • DO NOT use while wet or oversaturated

3. Fragrance Oil Solvent Risk

You acknowledge that fragrance and essential oils are potent solvents and may cause:

  • Irreversible material erosion
  • Melting or degradation of plastics
  • Damage to paints, varnishes, and polished finishes
  • Permanent staining of leather, textiles, and vinyl

4. Material Characteristics

Essence LeGuion products are individually hand-cast using premium Australian plaster.

The following are normal and not defects:

  • Natural variations in texture and finish
  • Minor imperfections
  • Surface chalking
  • Slight irregularities

5. Assumption of Risk

The customer accepts full responsibility for safe use, including:

  • Proper oil application
  • Ensuring the stone is hung freely or placed only on a non-reactive barrier (e.g., glass or ceramic)
  • Keeping the product away from all sensitive surfaces
  • Routine inspection of the stone during use

Use inside motor vehicles carries additional risk due to confined space and temperature exposure.

6. Heat & Environmental Conditions

  • High temperatures (especially in summer) may cause oil sweating or leakage
  • Check the product regularly (recommended weekly)
  • Remove immediately if oil seepage or saturation occurs

7. Proper Use & Surface Protection

Our plaster stones are designed to absorb and slowly diffuse fragrance oils.

  • Stones must never be oversaturated
  • Under no circumstances should a saturated stone come into direct contact with any surface
  • Improper use may result in:
    • Surface damage
    • Staining
    • Structural degradation of materials

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL):

Essence LeGuion shall not be liable for any:

  • Direct damages
  • Indirect damages
  • Incidental damages
  • Consequential damages

Including (but not limited to):

  • Vehicle interior damage
  • Property damage
  • Material staining or degradation
  • Furniture damage
  • Oil leakage damage
  • Allergic or health-related reactions

arising from:

  • Product use or misuse
  • Improper placement
  • Oil over-application or leakage
  • Failure to follow instructions

⚖️ Liability Cap

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is strictly limited to:

Replacement of the product OR refund of the original purchase price only

9. Allergies & Sensitivities

Our products use fragrance and essential oils.

  • Individuals with:
    • Chemical sensitivities
    • Asthma
    • Respiratory conditions
      should use caution
  • Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Do not ingest

10. Customer Responsibility

It is the sole responsibility of the customer to:

  • Use the product safely
  • Ensure correct hanging placement
  • Prevent contact with vulnerable surfaces
  • Follow all instructions provided

11. Customer Agreement

By purchasing and using products from Essence LeGuion, you confirm that you:

  • Have read and understood all instructions
  • Acknowledge the risks associated with use
  • Accept full responsibility for proper handling
  • Agree to this disclaimer and limitation of liability
